The New Hector

My husband made this sword for our son. The three of us talk a lot about the term "warrior". There are many ways to fight the enemy.

Enemy, a warrior invested with Rectitude, Courage, Benevolence, Respect, Honesty, Honor, Loyalty- that's my kind of warrior.

I posted it without showing it to someone. I don't believe my poetry is about people; that's why I have trouble with fiction--I can't base creativity on an actual person but an esoteric image--if it is the person at all, it is the aura that is totally subjective. But as Walter Benjamin said: once the art object leaves the creator, it is no longer his. So I will sit on it for a bit. Thanks for the compliment, CJ. More is coming. I'm writing a lot. I think it's the Oresteia--the language!

Piktor: Well, my son has already said that he won't join the military which on some level disappoints me as I believe in our Armed Forces, but I don't want him dead in Iraq and I am sure we will still be there when he is of age. And you are right; many of us are warriors here in the civilian world.
